Getting to the Marina
Carrickcraft provides transfers to the Marinas from the main Airports
on selected days in order that our customers have reasonably priced transport at
optimum times. It is not always easy, or cheap, to reach the marinas by public
transport.
Public Transport
If you would prefer to travel by public transport the website addresses of the
State Bus and Train companies are www.buseireann.ie &
www.irishrail.ie. For
private bus services information try www.citylink.ie and
www.kearnstransport.com.
Carrickcraft Transfers
Please contact Reservations for information on days and times that we operate
bus transfers. For those travelling outside our scheduled transfer days and times
we can organise an unscheduled taxi/coach transfer and we will endeavour to
obtain the best price for you.
Remember if you are on a one-way trip and you are arriving by car, you will need
transport back to your starting point. Carrickcraft can arrange taxi transfers -
costs vary and again contact the Reservations Office for assistance.
Flight Arrivals
Please Note: When your flight has landed you should report to the Information
Desk/Meeting Point Area as soon as possible. The bus driver will be in the
airport building organising all his passengers for the journey to the marina and
will be displaying a carrickcraft sign. If he cannot find you he will try to
contact you through the Information Desk. If you wish you could find out the
departure time of the transfer by telephoning the Marina you are starting from.
Average Transfer Time
For reference, it takes on average 2-3 hours to travel from Dublin Airport to
any of the Marinas, 2 hours from Belfast Airport to Tully Bay, 3 hours from
Belfast Airport to Carrick, 3 hours from Shannon Airport to Carrick and 1 1/2
hours from Shannon Airport to Banagher.
Checking in
Your Confirmation Invoice (if booked directly) or Voucher (if booked through an
Agent), will be required when checking-in.
Insurance
Although all cruisers are insured, a certain amount of liability
always remains with the hirer. This amount varies from €850 to €2,000 according to the type of
cruiser and may be reduced down to a minimum of €100 by payment of varying
amounts, again according to the type of cruiser.
This liability has to be left in the form of a deposit and this is usually a
credit card but can also be cash in any currency (as well as Euro & Sterling)
that has an available rate of exchange. This insurance does not cover hirer
belongings or personal injury. Sorry, but we cannot accept cheques.
Going Home
Please inform the Marina of your return flight/ferry times upon checking in.
Your return transfer times will be posted on the door of the Marina Office on
the day before your departure.
Parking
Free outdoors parking is available at all marinas for those arriving in their
own cars.
Hire Car
Please note that if you are arriving by hire car you should confirm the
procedures for handing back your car when you collect it at the airport as the
hire car companies do not have offices at the marinas.
